PHILOSOPHY

SSPW Architects made a decision many years ago to dedicate their practice of Architecture almost exclusively to educational facilities. Approximately 90% of our projects are in this area. Our primary philosophy to this end has been to provide an environment for learning, based on the individual Schools educational philosophy, needs and goals. To reach this objective, SSPW Architects endeavors to achieve the following:

Provide extensive programming
Provide innovative architectural enhancement of educational spaces
Provide Facilities that serve the communities needs
Provide culturally sensitive design
Provide quality
Provide low maintenance and operational facilities
Be responsive to budget limitations
Provide construction observation, to insure the completeness and quality of construction procedures

SSPW Architects endeavors to produce school designs unique to the particular School Facility. Such customized designs will enhance the learning process of the students by providing the physical facilities that will instill a desire for the students to willingly and happily attend the school, teachers to teach, and the school to become an asset to the community as a community-oriented center and meeting place.

It is SSPW Architects' belief that children can best develop their mental capacity for learning, imagination, social skills, creative spirit, a sense of camaraderie and appreciation of beauty if the school environment subtly expresses these characteristics.

As school architects, SSPW Architects have a unique responsibility to future generations. It is our goal to provide an atmosphere conducive for learning - one that will instill a sense of pride and establish "roots" for our society. This goal cannot be achieved by merely providing designs that fall into step with the "hit parade in stone", incorporating every current cliché for the sake of cliché. It can, however, be achieved by creating warm, inviting, culturally sensitive, and colorful edifices which promote internal relationships of disciplines, providing the stimuli for creation, imagination, the will to learn, and camaraderie.

SSPW Architects works with the users to develop a quality relationship. We listen, assimilate, add our expertise and design abilities, and provide preliminary plans for review and discussion by your administration and user groups. We make sure we are available for help in planning, designing, and construction observation. We do not dictate your program, but we are ready to provide you with the background of knowledge we have in building design. Our services continue along the traditional avenues used by most architects; however, SSPW does provide its clients with a complete array of in-depth services.

We have always felt the key to our practice should be "QUALITY". Our entire efforts are directed toward the one purpose of helping our clients invest their money in a building project to gain the greatest benefit for every dollar spent.

SSPW Architects has a genuine concern and interest in all of our clients and will provide follow-up service long after the warranties have terminated. Our clients appreciate the fact that SSPW Architects is available beyond our contract obligations, evidenced by the fact that we have served some clients for up to 30 plus years.
